After graduating from LSU with a degree in finance, Brooks went to work for J.P. Morgan Chase and quickly realized middle market banking analysis just wasn't for him. So he moved to Tetons and put his degree to good use as a raft guide and ski shop technician for several years, before eventually starting a company with a partner to source eco-designed hospitality investments. Wanting to shift into a more diverse real estate position, Brooks moved to Colorado where he worked for an international Planning/Design firm, helping clients implement highest and best use solutions on their real estate assets. Having backed into a planning career with a foundation in finance, Brooks realized his versatile skillset and entrepreneurial tendencies could bring unconventional solutions to a range of real estate investments and projects. Brooks obtained a real estate license and promptly launched 9th Path Advisors, a full-service firm that partners with clients from concept to completion, or anywhere in between, to bring success to projects that need hands-on attention and management. Today, Brooks runs the company from Carbondale, CO where he and his wife live with their stupendous dog, Grits. When he's not working, Brooks enjoys backcountry skiing, rock climbing and reading...in addition to wondering why people write their bios in the third person.
Abandoned in the streets of Southern Texas, Grits had a ruff life early on but made his way to Colorado where he was promptly fostered by some real suckers who didn't think they were ready for a dog. He told them otherwise. Grits never misses a day of work and can always be seen on display in the windows spreading good vibes and ensuring that stoke stays high (especially on Mondays). He also does most of the accounting. In his free time, he really enjoys sleeping and protecting the world from squirrels and crows.
